About Research For Rachel

Rachel's Story

Rachel is a wife, sister and mother of three. Endlessly dedicated to her family, Rachel spreads the word and way of love everywhere she goes. On September 9th, 2021; our lives changed. The diagnosis of stage 2, grade 3 Breast Cancer brought us all to our knees. Enduring radiation, chemotherapy and 3 lumpectomy's; Rachel is now on her path to remission.

Catherine's Story

Catherine is Rachels youngest, standing 5'9" and full of fire. At age 6, she finally got her wish of riding lessons, she blossomed from there. Catherine is now an avid & accomplished horsemen at 29 years young. Throughout the heart break of radiation, chemotherapy and shaving her mothers head; Catherine continued to make fire and refuse darkness.

"I've always been a big dreamer. From constantly raising the bar in my horsemanship, to figuring out how to fight cancer MY way. I work 55 hour weeks, I have 4 horses and 1 dog. I have a love for painting, singing and dancing. I am simply a girl in her 20's figuring out life and how to go through it. Understanding pressure is a privilege; I welcome any challenge with a smile. Thank you for choosing to join me and my biggest adventure yet."

We are very tight on space this year. Once we have hit our trailer limit, we will be turning away rigs due to space. We understand this is not ideal. We are pushing pre registry so we can vet all truck and trailers to make sure we can fit them all.

COMPETITORS: Your $75.00 entry will gain you a spot in our 2026 Trail challenge, along with a meal voucher.

SPECTATORS: Your $20.00 will gain you access to our event along with meal voucher! Don't forget a chair!

We have professional Photographer John Scott in our COVERED ARENA all day capturing your ride on the course. Yearly merchandise including prior years. We are placing to 5th place, buckles to 1st & 2nd in each division with special awards given throughout the day!

Every October, Research For Rachel puts on an Equine Trail Challenge! What is this you ask? it's an OBSTACLE COURSE! We are offering an Open, Novice and Youth (18 and under)

We have 5 baskets up for grabs, ranging from self care to custom tack; all valued over $225.00! Come sort through your favorite brands and explore some new ones!

where does the profit go?

We donate 100% of our profit to life saving Charity's. Research for Rachel has donated over $28,000 within the last four years to cancer patients in need.

how does a contestant prepare?

While we are not giving out the course details, this is our best recommendation on how to show up prepared. BACK TO BASICS! Be able to send a cue to your animal and have a clear understanding of what that is supposed to look like!

our history in Trail chellenges

In 2021, Catherine partnered with a small equine trail group to raise funds for Breast Cancer patients. They raised $2,300 and it all began from there. In 2022, Catherine branched off and held her own trail challenge to the beat of a $8,225.00 donation. In 2023, she broke the books with a $10,000.00 donation. Ending our 2024 year with a donated $24,707.00! We cannot wait to welcome you to our 2026 event!
